VidMate builds are signed by the same publisher certificate from release to release. Android checks that signature at install time, which is why a build signed by someone else cannot update an existing VidMate installation, and why the in-app updater works for genuine files only.
How to check on your phone
- Open the file in a file manager before installing. Most managers show the package name and version on the install sheet; it should read

Four steps, about two minutes. The APK installs on any phone or tablet running Android 5.0 or newer.
Download the APK
Tap Download APK (33.67 MB) above. The file saves to your Downloads folder and shows progress in the notification bar. On a slow connection let it finish completely; a partial file causes the "parse error" described below.
Allow installs from your browser
On Android 8 and newer, tap the downloaded file and Android asks to allow installs from that app (Chrome, Files, or your browser). Turn it on for that app only. On Android 5 to 7, enable Settings → Security → Unknown sources once, then turn it off after installing.
Confirm the install
The install sheet shows the app name and version. Tap Install. If Google Play Protect shows a warning, tap More details and then Install anyway; Play Protect flags every sideloaded video downloader because the category is not allowed on Google Play.
Open and grant permissions

Before you start
- Free up at least 100 MB: 33.67 MB for the APK, roughly 60 MB once installed, plus room for downloads.
- If Chrome blocks the download, use the Files app or Firefox, or download on WiFi.
- Uninstall any "VidMate" app with a different package name first; two apps with different package names can coexist, but the older one will not update.

VidMate Not Installing or Not Downloading? Fixes
"App not installed"
Three causes. A newer VidMate is already installed (Android refuses to install a lower version over a higher one; uninstall first). The existing app was signed by a different publisher (uninstall it and install this file). Or the download was incomplete (delete and download again on WiFi; the complete file is 33.67 MB, and its SHA-256 should match the value above).
"There was a problem parsing the package"
Either the phone runs Android 4.4 or older, which cannot install a file built for Android 5.0, or the file did not finish downloading. Check the Android version under Settings → About phone. For Android 4.3 and 4.4, use the last 5.x build from the old version guide.
Play Protect says the app may be harmful
Google Play Protect flags sideloaded downloaders as a category, not because of anything found in the file. Tap More details, then Install anyway. If you want assurance first, verify the SHA-256 above and check the file on VirusTotal.
The download button does nothing
The page shows a short countdown, then hands the file to your browser. If nothing happens after the countdown, your browser is blocking the download: allow downloads for this site in the browser's site settings, or try the Files app or Firefox. Ad blockers that block redirects can also stop it.
A video will not download inside VidMate
Update to the newest build when the app prompts you; sites change their players and old builds stop detecting videos. DRM services (Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, JioCinema) never work, by design. For YouTube, paste the link into VidMate's own browser rather than sharing from the YouTube app.
Downloads are slow
Turn off WiFi-only mode if you are on mobile data, lower the resolution for very long videos, and avoid running more than three downloads at once on a 4G connection.
