Our Position on Copyright
VidMate is a tool that enables users to download publicly available media. We do not host, store, or distribute copyrighted content ourselves. Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have the right to download and use any content accessed through the app.
We comply fully with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and respond to valid takedown notices within a reasonable timeframe.
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed upon by content accessible through VidMate, please send a written notice to our designated agent containing the following information:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorised representative.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
- Identification of the material to be removed, with sufficient information for us to locate it (e.g., specific URL).
- Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed and its previous location.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, phone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of your local federal court.
Repeat Infringers
We reserve the right to terminate access for users who are determined to be repeat infringers under appropriate circumstances.
Misrepresentation
Please note that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. Submit notices in good faith only.
